My Black & Gold Christmas Party Tablescape
This year, I started re-decorating my office and was immersed in a color palette and all matter of pretty, geometric, gold objects since summer.
And I just can't get enough of it!! So much so, that I decide to inject a little black and gold, geometric action into my Christmas table decor.
As always, there are lots of simple and DIY details that are also easy on your wallet, so anyone can copy the look!

My Black & Gold Christmas Tablescape - The Table Styling
To start things off, I covered my dinning table with a furry blanket for the cozy factor. Obviously don't go for an expensive blanket here if you're afraid of stains! Thrift stores are a great place to find an inexpensive option.
The white backdrop of the blanket is a great way to add a neutral, calming color palette that will let your dinnerware and food shine. Plus, it adds another textural element that evokes cozy winters and all we love about this time of year!
DIY Christmas Tree Paper Centerpiece
I chose paper decor in place of a floral arrangement. This is a great option if you're on a budget or fancy a bit of crafting with your family, kids and/or friends. But really, I made quite a few trees on my own in no time at all.
It's also a great opportunity to use up paper scraps or even wrapping paper you may have around the house! I used wall paper, printable scrapbooking paper and gift wrap for mine. Tutorial coming in the week!
My Black & Gold Christmas Tablescape - Place Settings
For each place setting I used a gold glitter charger, that looked awesome against the white! You can totally DIY this element also by spraying plain chargers with spray glue, and slathering the gold glitter on!
On top of the charger I used black and white plates and my cute gold polka dot dessert plates, all finished off with some pearly chocolate treats inside a baking cup for each guest.
The DIY place-card holder was simply a wire with a peg on the end (you can find them in most craft stores), inserted into the black and white baking cups.
To finish the tableware, some wine and water glasses with gold rims that I adore! They're so pretty and really trendy this year. You can pick up a set pretty much anywhere (Target springs to mind).
DIY Geometric Table Napkins
To complete each place setting, I added a set of black flatware onto a hand-painted geometric napkin. I made these really easily (tutorial coming later in the week), and the pattern chosen was a nod to the tree centerpiece.
My Black & Gold Christmas Tablescape - The Desserts & Drinks Buffet
I set up this Christmas table in my studio, where I also have a handy window seat - used here as a desserts and drinks buffet. But you could totally use a proper buffet, side table or bar to display your gifts, drinks, party favors and after-dinner treats!
For the cozy factor again, I lit up some votive candles inside golden star-shaped holders for the glistening touch. Totally magical!
