Red, White & Blue Fruit Tart Recipe
This white chocolate and fruit tart is as quick as make as it is to eat, and it doesn't hurt that it looks SO pretty in its patriotic red, white and blue colors, am I right?! ;)
This recipe is a variation on the white chocolate and strawberry tart I shared here.
But adding bananas and blueberries in strategic places, instantly elevates it to a Memorial Day (or 4th of July) worthy dessert without much effort!
Red, White & Blue Fruit Tart Recipe
Ingredients:
* one roll of rolled shortcrust pastry (enough for a 30 cm or 12 inch round pie dish)
* 200 g (7 oz) white chocolate chips
* 150 ml (5 fl oz) of double/thick cream
* 3 gelatin leaves
* banana slices, strawberries and blueberries for decor
Directions:
1) Pre-heat oven to gas mark 7/8 or 200 deg C 392 F. Line a tart dish with parchment paper and add the rolled pastry on top. Blind-bake until golden for about 10 minutes. let it cool.
2) Meanwhile, place gelatin leaves in a bowl with water for about 10 minutes until soft. Squeeze the leaves to drain with our hands, and place in a pan with the cream. heat the cream and gelatin gently until gelatin is dissolved.
3) Place chocolate chips into a galss bowl and pour the hot cream and gelatin mixture over. Mix to dissolve the chocolate. let it cool completely.
4) Once cooled, place the white chocolate mix into the tart shells, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
5) Just before serving, decorate with fruit to look like the US flag. Easy, right?!
