Party Food | Italian Sausage & Ravioli Appetizer Recipe
To me, it's more than food - it means love, comfort, family values, tradition...
I still remember to this day, being in awe of my grandmother's pasta-making skills, in her kitchen cutting tagliatelle with a knife, dusting them with semolina and hanging them to dry on a broomstick made by my granddad!
And this is why the story of Assunta Cantisano, the founder of Ragu; and her AMAZING and inspiring story really resonates with me. Pure entrepreneurship, I tell you! (Read more about it here)
In this day and age we're always so busy, and although I'm all up for traditional recipes; I'm not ashamed to say I cut a few corners here and there in my everyday cooking.
BUT, I also do not want to corners on flavor! So a ready-made pasta sauce that will save me tons of time in the kitchen but that also tastes authentically Italian (like grandma used to make!), is what I always go for.
Especially when it comes to my super-easy Italian sausage meatball and ravioli party appetizer!
And what I love most about this sauce is that it's made with no artificial flavors, no artificial colors and no high fructose corn syrup and that, grandma would definitely approve! ;)

These delicious party appetizers can be whipped up so quickly too, they taste and look divine, and no-one will ever know that you had a little help from Assunta! ;)
Party Food | Italian Sausage & Ravioli Appetizer Recipe
Ingredients:
* 1 Jar of Ragu Marinara sauce ( or you can use one of these flavors too)
* Cooked ravioli
* Meatballs (see recipe below)
* Grated Parmesan cheese
* Fresh oregano for garnish
Italian Sausage Meatballs Recipes
Ingredients:
* 1 pound or 1/2 Kg of minced Italian sausage meat
* 2 Shallots very finely chopped
* 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
* 1/2 cup of fine breadcrumbs
* Black pepper to taste
* If the sausage meat is not already seasoned, then add salt to taste.
1) Prepare the meat balls: In a bowl mix all the meatball ingredients together with your hands, until combined. Make bite-sized balls and shallow fry, turning the meatballs around until cooked in the center and brown all over. You can leave them in the oven to finish cooking, or to warm them up just before serving.
2) Skewer a ravioli then a meatball onto a small appetizer fork. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
3) Heat up the Ragu sauce until piping hot, then let it cool a little and decant into small shot glasses. Top with fresh oregano.
4) Place all onto a serving dish side by side and serve! YUM!
