Green & Gold Christmas Holiday Tablescape
I styled this green and gold Christmas Holiday party last year, but never got a chance to show it here on the blog. But I'm glad to be sharing now, 'cause apparently the 2017 Pantone color of the year is green (or greenery), so we're bang on trend! 😉
This was one of the easiest table decor styling or tablescapes I've ever done. My sister was coming over from London for Christmas, and I wanted to create homely, cozy atmosphere for our family dinner.
To see all the party site in this hop, you can start here at Mirabelle Creations!
Green & Gold Christmas Holiday Tablescape - DIY Table Decor
1) Foraged greens table centerpiece
So I foraged from the garden and literally set out the table together the night before! For the table decor I simply clipped branches of laurel, eucalyptus and ferns and displayed them directly onto the table, making a rustic runner in the center. In the gaps I added bauble Christmas tree ornaments and some faux winter berries.
TIP: Combining real foliage with faux flowers or buds is so inexpensive and make the faux stuff look real! 😋
2) DIY gold glitter ornaments place-card holder
These were made the night before the dinner, no joke. I'll be sharing DIY tutorial next week too. So quick and easy, and added a touch of gold glitter sparkle to each place-setting!
3) Table place settings decor
Each place place setting was set with a green charger, white plates with gold details on and gold flatware. I tied the flatware with velvet and satin ribbons for texture, in various hues of green and attached a couple of Christmas tree bauble ornaments. The gold glitter baubles place-card holders completed the look. So easy, right?!
4) Green taper candles table display
In between the foraged foliage and greenery, I added some tall ceramic candlesticks with candles in various hues of green. It added warmth and height to the centerpiece.
Green & Gold Christmas Holiday Tablescape - Party Menu & Drinks
I spent a little more time on the dinner menu, but it was also not a hard affair. I served roast pork with mustard and herb crust (recipe coming next week), sauteed Brussels sprouts, apple sauce and roast veggies. The pork and veggies you can prep a day ahead and just bang in the oven on the day of the party, so it's a super easy dinner party menu!
Starters Course
I served Smoked Mackerel Pate serve on endive leaves. Hoping to get the recipe here on the blog soon.Main Course
Roast Pork with mustard and herb crust (recipe coming next week)Desserts
For desserts I style a coffee and sweet bar onto my dinning room buffet, and served a pistachio and white chocolate ice box cake (a twist on Ina Garten's recipe), British mince pies (recipe here), cocktails and coffee. The mince pies ca double as edible party favors for guests to take home, you just package them in these super cute gold foil favor boxes below, and you're done! 💗
Party Cocktails
Wine and Homemade Pistachio Irish Cream ( a twist on this Irish Cream recipe, where I replaced the almond flavors with pistachio). I served the pistachio liqueur onto glasses rimmed with green sugar and topped with crunchy pistachios. So yum and pretty too!Green & Gold Christmas Holiday Tablescape - Desserts Bar Decor
To decorate the dessert buffet/bar I used more foraged leaves and branches from the garden in a vase, and up cycled some green (beer!) bottles as candle holders. I wrapped each bottle in printable chevron paper from BirdsParty.com to complete the look. They were displayed onto silver trays and added a lot of cozy light to the room.
The menu was also displayed onto the buffet, and I printed it in the same chevron pattern, and added to a DIY white bauble ornament card holder (just like the glitter place-card holders) and placed onto a silver tray surrounded with lots of green votive candles.
For the backdrop of the deserts bar I drew a free hand sign using chalk and a black board. But you could totally use printable sign here too, and it would be just as fab, not to mention easier! - Email us so we can create a printable custom sign for you! 😊
I hope these ideas will help you style a fabulous party of your own for the Christmas Holidays!
