My kids and I LOVE baking together. For us, spending fun moments creating (and eating) delicious treats, like these Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownie Sundaes, is the ultimate family activity!
Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownie Sundaes Recipe
Making sweet memories with the kids during the summer months doesn't have to be complicated or hard, and baking together for a delicious afternoon treat or after-dinner dessert has become one of our favorite summer activities to do as a family!
In summer, the kids are at home full-time, so baking something delicious together is also a great way to keep them entertained and amused during their holidays. A summer activity that doubles as delicious dessert?! It's got to be a winner with the kiddos, right?! 😊
Ice Cream Sundaes have become a family tradition in summer, mainly because they're SO easy to put together and are instant, delicious gratification. They're so fun to make (and eat) and you can get creative with toppings, sauces and fixings. Sundaes look so pretty too, which as far as desserts go, looks like you've spent ages in the kitchen, but the opposite is actually true!
Our Sundaes always include some form of cake or cookies base for added crunch and delicious texture. And one of our family favorites are these Peanut Butter & Chocolate Brownie Sundaes, which I had to share with you guys here on the blog. I mean, it has chocolate fudge brownies, ice cream, peanut butter frosting...what's not to love?!
Baking with kids literally becomes kids-play when we use Pillsbury™ Brownie and Cake Mixes and Frostings to bake our tasty Sundaes! We LOVE their delicious products, which are so easy to use and cut our baking time considerably, so we can quickly concentrate on the best part, which is the eating! 😉
I love these Peanut Butter and Chocolate Sundaes for a fun family treat, but they also make great dinner party desserts in summer, when you're pushed for time! You could also set up a Sundae Bar with brownies, frosting, toppings and fixings and let guests build their own Sundaes for added fun. Talk about an easy but totally delicious dessert, right?!

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Brownie Sundaes
Peanut Butter & Chocolate Brownie Sundaes - a delicious, easy to make recipe, and is perfect dessert for summer!
ingredients
- 1 box of Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
- 1 tub of Pillsbury Jif® Peanut Butter Frosting
- vanilla ice cream
- whipped cream
- peanuts
- chocolate chips (white and semi-sweet)
- raspberries or other berries to garnish
instructions
- Bake the Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix according to packet instructions. Let it cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
- Melt about two tablespoons per person of the Pillsbury Jif Peanut Butter Frosting in the microwave at 30 second intervals until slightly melted and pourable as a sauce. I like to then decant the sauce into a squirt-bottle for easy pouring when building our Sundaes.
- To build our delicious Sundaes, add a square of brownie to the bottom of a tall glass, followed by scoop of vanilla ice cream. Add a generous drizzle of peanut butter frosting, a squirt of whipped cream, more of the melted peanut butter frosting and some crushed peanuts and chocolate chips.
- Repeat the layers if your glass is tall enough, garnishing your Sundaes with a raspberry or other summer berry on top for the final pretty touch!
