Mardi Gras Bar Cart Styling Ideas + Cajun Bloody Mary Recipe
Do you celebrate Mardi Gras? This year, I decided to deck out my bar cart for Mardi Gras, in the quintessential Louisiana Mardi Gras colors of purple, yellow, greens and gold.
To crown it all off, I'm also sharing a delicious Cajun Bloody Mary cocktail recipe, which is perfect to add to your bar cart and serve at your Mardi Gras party!
Mardi Gras Bar Cart Styling Ideas
This fall I gifted myself a gorgeous golden bar cart, and I've been having so much fun styling it for different holidays, and I love how it turned out for this Mardi Gras party!
Of course, I could not let the occasion pass without designing pretty party invitations to match my party theme!
Hence the gorgeous printable Mardi Gars invites below, that you can download for any event you may be hosting on Mardi Gras. We personalize the text to suit your party!
To style and decorate my bar cart, I simply scoured my party props and pantry for colored glassware and decorations to fit in with my Mardi Gras color scheme of purple, yellow and green.
For the decor of my Mardi Gras bar cart, nothing simpler than: a colorful bouquet of flowers, a gorgeous balloon garland to fill up the blank walls behind the cart, honeycomb paper balls scattered around the bar cart, and some sparkly garlands to adorn the front of the cart.
Floral arrangements add instant glam and freshness to any cart or tabletop. And for this Mardi Gars arrangement, I used seasonal flowers like purple Irises and yellow Chrysanthemums, mixed in with faux foliage and blooms.
Using a mixture of fresh and faux flower is something I do a lot for all my photo-shoots, and is a great tip if you want to create a beautiful floral arrangement on a budget!
In the video below I share how I put the floral arrangement together, as well as the quick and easy DIY for the garlands and the balloon decorations.
I love how this Mardi Grans bar cart turned out, and how that balloon garland also acts a photo-booth backdrop for all those important party photos!
Cajun Bloody Mary Cocktail Recipe
When styling any bar cart, there are no set rules. You can add whatever spirits, beverages and cocktails you like or have handy.
But I thought it would be super fun and mega practical, to serve a big-batch cocktail with a few garnishes, so guests can have fun at pimping up and customizing their cocktails!
My husband is a huge fan of a Bloody Mary cocktail, so I decide to create a Cajun version of the recipe, in-keeping with the Louisiana vibes I was going for.
The cocktail itself tastes divine, and is especially great to serve to a crowd since you can make it ahead of your party.
At our house, we love spicy foods, so lashings of Tabasco were used in my Cajun Bloody Mary cocktail recipe. But feel free to tone it down to your taste.
I love how the cart looked, super festive and inviting with all the toppings and garnishes for the Bloody Mary on display!
