Mardi Gras Oreo Truffles + DIY Paper Cases with FREE Template
If you make just one thing to celebrate Mardi Gras today, than make these super easy, delicious Oreo truffles!
Besides looking so pretty and festive adorned in gold edible glitter, these Oreo truffles are so easy to make and involve NO baking whatsoever. You're welcome! 😋
Being from a Brazilian background (I was born in Rio), Mardi Gras or carnaval is in my blood. So every year, I try to treat my kids to a fun dessert or snack, reminiscent of Brazilian traditions, like these brigadeiro chocolate truffles or these coconut truffles called beijinhos.
My kids are crazy about these Brazilian truffles, which are very traditional and front and center at every party hosted in Brazil.
But, these truffles would be perfect on any party table! So don't hesitate to swap out the colors of the chocolate coating to suit your theme!
But, these truffles would be perfect on any party table! So don't hesitate to swap out the colors of the chocolate coating to suit your theme!
However, the Brazilian truffles can be a little more time-consuming to make. So this year, I opted for a no-bake Oreo truffles recipe that will satisfy our truffle cravings, but that are much quicker and easier to make!
This Oreo truffles recipe is SO easy to make that you can totally solicit the help of young chefs! They can to stir the truffles mixture, roll them into balls, dip them in colored candy melts and sprinkle them with gold edible glitter.
I even made little fancy Mardi Gras paper cases to house our Oreo truffles, and I think they look oh-so pretty!
These paper cases were actually more involved and more time consuming than the truffles themselves, so this DIY is totally optional. You could of course, use store-bought paper cases, nothing wrong with that.
But I think they look mighty fine in the quintessential Louisiana Mardi Gras colors of purple, yellow and green with a dash of gold!
