DIY Nautical Coastal Decor
Today I bring you some fun DIY nautical decor ideas to help you get crafting and busy this summer!
These coastal or beach inspired decor pieces are perfect to decorate your home for the summer, or to style a nautical mantel, a tiered-tray or a coastal farmhouse table for any celebration or dinner party you may be hosting this season!
As always, I tried as much as possible to use craft supplies I already had at home, and to recycle "trash" into home decor treasure. So I also encourage you to do the same and re-purpose old objects, decor or to use up whatever you have in your craft stash!
DIY Nautical and Coastal Decor
When creating these DIYs, I was basically inspired by what I had to hand. I didn't quite know exactly what I was going to make, and all I knew at the start was that I wanted it to be nautical and have that aged, farmhouse look that I'm currently obsessed with.
After gathering some beach or coastal supplies and nautical craft props, I embarked on making several DIY projects that would be perfect as decor pieces on their own, or grouped together to decorate a table, mantel or party space.
What I came up with were: little farmhouse coastal beach huts (these are great for decorating tiered trays!), a nautical wheel, some coastal candle holders and a nautical beach sign that would great anywhere in the home!
Like I said, these items look great on their own, but grouped together, they are ideal for styling a larger space like a dinner party table or desserts buffet!
I'm thinking the sign and larger pieces like the nautical wheel, the candle holders and sign would also look pretty cool for a 4th of July patio or garden decor, what do you think?
DIY Mini Beach Huts
To make the mini farmhouse beach huts or beach houses, I used little wooden houses from an advent calendar.
You can use whatever little house shapes you have on hand, and know that you can find similar ones at the Dollar Tree or online on Amazon.
DIY Nautical Candle Holders
For the nautical candle holders, I used jute cord or rope and tall glass hurricane vases. Again, you can find all of this at the Dollar Tree or online.
DIY Nautical Wheel
For the nautical wheel, I up-cycled some crafts supplies and a plastic serving tray.
DIY Coastal Beach Sign
And for the coastal beach sign, I used a couple of old Christmas signs, added a lick of paint and some coastal text using my cutting machine, and voila!
Hope you like these nautical farmhouse crafts and DIY ideas and feel inspired to have a go! If you do, tag me on social media #BirdsParty so I can see and share your creativity! 😍
