DIY Farmhouse Outdoor Bar

Hi friends! Today I bring you another "trash to treasure" project that's perfect for summer - a DIY outdoor bar! It's basically an outdoor table that can be used for soooo many occasions!

I have used this modern farmhouse-style table as a bar whenever we cook outdoors or have a BBQ. But this is such a handy little table, that you can use it to serve snacks, use it as a patio buffet table, as a desserts station or even as a potting bench!

This outdoor bar started its life as a battered old dresser, but you could use a thrift store table or something similar. Just give it a good clean first 😉

We also recycled an old pallet that we had in our garage to create a backing for the table and a little shelf too.

I say we, because there were some power tools involved and so I solicited the help of my husband for the heavy-duty stuff. Only because I don't really trust myself with a power tool 😅

Anyways, the technique was pretty simple in the end and I'm so happy how it turned out!

To decorate my outdoor bar / potting bench, I opted for a modern farmhouse style, and used some black metal hooks and shelving I already had at home.

If you decide to re-create this project, these accessories or ad-dons are totally optional, and will vary depending on what you have on hand.

For optional accessories to your table or bar, I suggest up-cycling the hooks from old coat hangers like I did, or creating some totally unique hooks using unexpected materials and objects, like leather or even rope.

For the paint color, I decided on a light gray to make this table / bar really versatile and match any modern farmhouse decor that I may want to style it with. 

But obviously, feel free to use whatever color paint or wood stain tickles your fancy, or that suits your own personal style better.
