The idea is to create a few simple décor pieces that are also practical and help to add a little touch of fun to a child's room, without breaking the bank.
AND without spending hours crafting. You're welcome! 😉
Kids Boho Study Desk DIY Décor
I really like upcycling and working on projects that help to transform or update any space, but this time around, I was inspired by some really versatile pieces I found at my local craft store, like those cute unfinished wooden clouds.
I chose pastel colors and was inspired by the trendy boho style that appeals to my daughter, but you can swap the color palette or modify a few design elements to anything you like to suit your own taste.
Speaking of boho style, you may also want to check out my boho macramé inspired rainbows, which would make a super fun addition to this room décor!
The first project I embarked upon was that super cute desk organizer.
The desk organizer started off its life as a unfinished wood cloud shelf and a cat pencil holder. I simply painted them both and combined them to make a desk organizer. So don't be afraid to re-think the purpose of items you may find at your local craft store!
To finish off the ensemble, I added my DIY boho pink vase with some dried flowers inside, but you could leave the space free to add other school or art supplies.
Next up, I created that cute cloud memo board and the cloud chalkboard. They came as a set of unfinished wooden trays like I said, but I decided to transform them to act as wall décor that's also functional.
I love how they turned out, despite my happy accident ( see the video for details 😉).
Last but not least, the easiest project of them all - the star photo or note holder. This one is not really a DIY per se 'cause it was so easy...but it added that cute detail in-keeping with the style and décor colors.
The beauty of these craft projects is that you can totally get the kids involved in the making, and therefore; help get them excited for their new study area and looking forward to going back to school! 👍🥰
I linked the supplies I used for each project from the Cultura.fr brand I worked with, but you can also find most of the materials used online on Amazon or your local craft store.
